$3.25 furlough lunch

One of my husband and my favorite treats is heading to Chandler for a Lee’s Vietnamese BBQ pork sandwich. While I’m totally willing to make a 30 mile round trip for a delicious sandwich, I’ve often wished that I could find something a bit…closer.

So when I heard that Da Vang, a Vietnemese restaurant in Central Phoenix, had sandwiches, I was anxious to check it out.

The menu had several, different sandwiches, one of which included fungus. I chose the non-fungal BBQ pork, just so I could comparison shop. The sandwich didn’t have nearly as many pickled veggies as Lee’s, but the bread was way softer.

My Banh Mi Thit Nuong sandwich rang in at $2.25. The iced tea, a buck.

$3.25 total lunch bill. That would about cover my gas to Chandler.
