What some Montreal-ers are wearing
Take a look at my Spinning Wheels blog to see what some Montreal women are wear. Warning: It looks good on about 3 people.
Going through food DT
Dreaming about fresh fruits, veggies and yoga was a sign that I’d over-consumed. Though not the first or only sign.
A sampling of what I ate in Montreal & New York:
1/2 pastrami sandwich with french fries
1 fried lobster salad sandwich
1 fried chicken, hush puppies, mashed potatoes, and corn dinner
1 smothered chicken breast with waffles (see above)
1 everything bagel with tofu cream cheese
1 greek dumpling plate
A lot of french bread with butter.
A lot of alcohol.
Despite walking copious distances, I feel pretty disgusting.
It’s detox time!
Now that I’m home, I started off pretty well. Anti-oxidants abounded in my berry smoothie and green tea breakfast.
From there, it went downhill. Lunch: Takoyaki with mayo and sauce. For dinner, a bagel with cream cheese, tomato and cucumber. For dessert, an ice cream sandwich.

I think I’m going to make these peach popsicles. At least it will take the bad dessert out of the equation.
Ingredients:
3 ripe peaches
1 lime, juiced
2 tablespoons fresh mint, finely chopped
1/4-1/2 cup sugar, depending on desired sweetness
Directions:
Slice peaches and remove pit. Place peaches, lime juice, 1 tablespoon of mint and 1/4 cup sugar in blender and pureed until well incorporated. Stir in rest of mint.
Put it in a popsicle container and freeze for 4-6 hours.
Voila!
Shopping Etsy: Vintage glasses
Sadly and luckily, I didn’t find a lot of things I wanted to buy in New York.
I got a vintage dress at a used music store in Saratoga Springs, a scarf, and on the last day of my trip, some cool vintage eyeglass frames.
Fabulous Fanny’s, one of my favorite East Village spots, is home of great vintage clothing, jewelry…but the best selection of vintage eyewear.
I bought a pair or regular glasses…and some sunglasses.
So now, I have vintage frames on my mind. If you can’t make it to Fanny’s, here are some cool ones on Etsy:
1.) Tortoise Shell Vintage Glasses, $15
2.) Vintage 1970s Christian Dior Sunglasses, $105
3.) Sleek Black Frames, $45
4.) Vintage Glasses, $19
5.) Vintage Black Rhinestone Glasses, $40
6.) Vintage Shuron Tortoise Cat Eye Glasses, $35

What’s Cracking Good — Coming home after a long trip

My kitties! My garden! My bed!
As much as I love traveling, after 10 days in Montreal, upstate New York and New York City, I was pretty ready to see my cats, wash my jeans, and de-humidify.
On the 11th day, when my husband and I missed our flight, had to stand in line for 2 hours, trek back into the city and do it all over again…you could have just called me Dorothy.
But now, I’m home, my jeans are in the dryer, and I’m detoxing with green tea and a berry smoothie.
Over the next few hours/days, I will recount some of my Canadian, Saratoga Springs and New York finds. Stay tuned!
