Lunching adventures: Local Breeze
It’s kind of funny that the owner of Pischke’s, an un-scene-y Scottsdale eatery that served basic food and didn’t try too hard, took over Palette, a restaurant that did nothing if not try hard.
I think it’s pretty safe to say that Local Breeze is like Palette on opposite day.
Palette had a great ambience: The decor was vintage or recycled materials and a shabby chic vibe that was both home-y and hip. The food however, seemed to get worse every time I went.
Local Breeze’s interior design is reminiscent of a Cocoa’s, but the food, was quite good.
The menu ranges from sandwiches, to salads, to burgers, general, all-American fare. I had the fish taco starter, which was delicious and filling (after I asked for more of the pepper sauces). My friend ordered the spicy steak sandwich with lime & spice fries…I think I ate 1/2 of his fries.
The prices were a little steep, $10 is a lot for a sandwich, but if they keep their focus on good food, it could be worth it.
I read somewhere that they were considering adding steel drums to the mix. Don’t do it Local Breeze, that’s trying too hard.
