Going Greek

When it comes to downtown dining, Athenian Express (which my friends and I fondly refer to as “Greek”) is always a solid lunching choice.

There’s the infamous cheeseburger, which has righted many late-night drinking wrongs. And then there are the sandwiches….

Yes, the sandwiches. Take a look at one of my favorites:

Native sandwiches

My last adventure lunch: Fry bread sandwiches.

It ranked pretty high on the adventure meter, and equally high on the “need to take a nap” scale.

While deep frying is delicious, it’s good to remember that it does nothing for your get-up-and-go.

Sandwich update: Joe’s Farm Grill

After picking my husband up at the Mesa Airport, located WAY out in Gilbert, we decided to take advantage of the proximity to one of our favorite casual lunch spots: Joe’s Farm Grill.

If you visit in the near future, you can buy bags of tomatoes from the adjoining farm for $2.
